"I grew up on Highway 34 outside of Newnan, Georgia, and that's where we came up with Thirty Miles West. "There's this highway that's been in existence for forever now - it's called the Dixie Highway and it runs from north of Michigan all the way down to South Florida, and I wrote a song about it that's on the album," Alan explains. The album title was inspired by a stretch of road that runs from way up north to South Florida, and the disc finds Alan teaming again with his buddies - and fellow Georgia natives - the Zac Brown Band for a track on the album called "Dixie Highway." Alan Jackson's Georgia roots are always near and dear to his heart, and he proves that with the title of his latest CD, Thirty Miles West, due out in just a few weeks.
